Lazy Trout

There are many places locally where you can find good food, snacks and refreshments.

The 3 which seem to be recommended most by our visitors are

  1. The Lazy Trout – our local, village pub with an outside play area.  They serve hot and cold food, with daily specials.  The dining room has been refurbished this year and Thursday is Karen’s pie night!
  2. The Three Horseshoes Inn.  This has a bar, carvery, restaurant and brasserie.  The latter has several dishes with a Thai influence.  Keep up to date with their special offers on www.3shoesinn.co.uk
  3. The Abbey.  This traditional old pub is on the Abbey Green road to Leek.  Good food with daily specials.  A large play area for children and recommended by larger family groups.

Other pubs are The Rock (at Upperhulme), The Ship (at Wincle), The Mermaid (on Morridge) and several in Leek.

We also like to use local restaurants.

  1. There are many Indian restaurants in Leek
  2. There is one Thai and one Chinese restaurant as well as several take aways.
Recently re-opened is "Curshaws At The Townhouse", in St Edward’s Street, Leek.  This had a very high standard when operating under the name “64”.  If you fancy dressing up for something special then give it a try.
